We are going to Harmony, MN today and do a Amish tour before Robert starts treatments and doesn't feel like doing anything. It is a 2 1/2 hour tour with a guide driving our car. He will tell us about the history and stop and show us things.Sounds interesting. At the Lodge, they have crockpots and all kinds of cooking equipment and then several nights a week, different organizations bring in supper. They also have activities during the week. Anxious to get over there. Will let you know once we get there. Interesting people over there. One gal about age 30 has been there since Sept. She has three little kids at home, so makes 6 weeks look pretty short.Always something to count your blessings for.Have a good weekend and I'll stay in touch. Love ya all, Roxie

Hi Rox, "Hope" you get in Hope Lodge soon. Will be so nice for you and Robert. I am tired of watching the Super Bowl....too much hype for me. I once had one of Kaleigh's doctors up here say to me : "If we spent even half the money we do on sports on our children, we would be an even greater country." I am not a negative person but have to agree with him. ML and I are thinking and praying for you both. We love you. Baby Sis
My 2nd try to send this, must have screwed up the first time. It's great to hear things are going OK in your world for the time being. The tour sounds like it could have been very interesting. I'm glad you found the time to see some of the sights. I've been trying to read the blogs daily so I can report to John, you know how he worries. Some of the nurses at LTC try to keep him informed also. Galen Berning called yesterday and told me the Docs at Leoti are sending him to a specialist in Denver. Maybe in the next month all of you from the wind farm area will be as good as new. I think about and pray for BOTH of you daily and have faith that this is going to be the ticket. No towers running this morning, # 2 ran most of Sunday. Remember my phone still works if I can help out back here. ED
Hope things went well for Uncle Robert today. I am thinking about you and praying. News from Karla, New sponts on liver are cancer. The name is metastic sarcoma, I think. She is doing OK> Taking another treatment after this week's and then one more befoer another CAT scan to see if they are working. Again hope things continue to go good for you guys, sounds like you have found a few things to occupy your time. READ,READ,READ. I cannot tell you how many books I read.
Love STEVE & Jeanie
Hey there--hope things are going your way up there in the cold country. Just curious as to what Uncle Robert has for that tatoo--a nekkid lady or a heart on his butt cheek that says Mama Rox! Makes me laugh just thinkin about it. Prayin for you both and know that you're in our thoughts! Carol and fam
Robert got his chemo pump on yesterday and will be on 24/7.
Had his second radiation treatment today.
We have Dr appts on Wed with radiation Doc and on Mon with oncology Doc. They fill up his chemo bag with new drip every Mon.
Radiation is very day. We never know our schedule. They make the appt every day after he is finished with treatment.
I've been having back pain and thought I had pulled a muscle but started to itch last night and pulled up my shirt and I have shingles. Ouch! I call Dr Alpers and he got some meds called up to me. What a blessing to be from small town USA and the Doctors know your name and case and are truly concerned to take care of you. I was so thankful as it is awful to be so far away from home and be sick along with a hubby to take care of.
I'll tell Robert about the idea of the heart tatoo. We'll let you know when we get home and maybe you can view it! ha!
Thanks to everyone for keeping in touch. I look forward everyday to hearing from home. Love to you all, Love, Rox & Roberto
