Things are looking up! Robert acts and sounds better today. White blood count is at 15 so is coming down. The stool test came back OK so we don't have to deal with that! Dr's said if he continues to improve, maybe we will be dismissed tomorrow......Kinda scary to leave but anxious to be out of the hospital. Will stick around Rochester for awhile before heading to Augusta to pick up our car. We will rent a one-way rental to get us there.Had a nice surprise this morning arrive at Robert's room. A beautiful Orchid plant with a note from our friend Charlie Munger. This is what the note said: "Best wishes, As an Omaha boy I always like the following saying, which I believe appley in some way to me:"They got the boy out of the farm, but they never got the farm out of the boy." Charlie Munger. What a great guy. They were getting to go home today after 6 weeks with his wife in the hospital. She and their daughter were coming out of the beauty shop yesterday morning as I was going in. Very down to earth people. Hoping to tell you tomorrow that we are at the hotel.Robert is calling me on his cell phone wanting to go outside so you can tell he is feeling better. Yea!Love, Roxie

Roxie, Really nice here, hopefully we will be having a nice fall. Good to hear that Robert is doing better today. Always good to go and walk and go out for some fresh air. Hope he is feeling like eating more now, that would be awful if food still tastes like burnt chicken feathers. Thinking of you and Robert Sue

Wonderful news! Time is a great healer so take your time and try to enjoy it just a little bit in being somewhere new and in meeting some new friends. The farm will always be here and so will you two both in no time. Hugs and prayers for you all. Carol

Hi Rox & Robert, Sounds like things are looking up! I dont know if you have ever seen the commercial on tv for Kaiser Permanente but they have one with a little blonde boy that I call my grandson.......he is so darling and at the end of the commercial he says" Things are lookin up!" ML and I crack up everytime we see it. So glad that you are feeling better Robert. Let's get you home for your birthday or at least out of the hospital for your birthday.
We are going to celebrate Kaleigh and my birthday by going to one our favorite restaurants downtown Denver on Saturday night. Hope you start getting your appetite back soon and can enjoy some good food.
Love & Prayers, Relda & ML
P.S. ML is still feeling puny but thinks he might be able to handle at least a half a day of work tomorrow.

"Great things come to those who wait." I used to have a magnet on my refrigerator that said that!!! Isn't it true? I guess we just have to be PATIENT sometimes. Mom, it was so great to hear your cheerful voice today when I talked to you! Nolan was thrilled to talk to Papa on the phone after school today. Can't wait to see you!
Lova ya!! xoxo

Me again, just had to remind you both of Kaleigh's birthday.....Rox,you were so sure she would come on your birthday and then I called you guys in the middle of the night to tell you she came on your birthday, Robert! You both thought I was a lunatic after having an unplanned C-section.........hey, I am honored to be called a lunatic because she was born on The Godfather's birthday! Robert, two wonderful people were born on 9/27. So happy you are feeling better and want you to get better each day! Don't rush it.......just do what is best for you and Rox.
Love, Relda & ML

Talked to Dr's tonight. Robert still has some liquid on his lungs so needs to walk more & use his breather more. They will watch him and maybe dismiss him tomorrow.
He is taking all his meds by mouth and has acted and felt better today than any day that we have been here. He walked down to the courtyard three times today. I wheeled him back in the wheelchair but at least he got some fresh air and exercise.. The Dr's said he is making good progress. I sure hope so because I'm ready to go home!!!!! He wanted the grain markets so is starting to want to run the farm again in his bed. He is still mad at us for leaving his billfold at Augusta..... Not sure if he wanted to send me flowers or what he needed it for, but oh well......... I'm sure it is still there! Still not eating much but I guess that will take time for appetite to come back. Grumpy, Grumpy and if he doesn't stop, I'm going to get grumpy too....... ha! Tomorrow will be a week that he has been back in so it is time to get out. We'll let you know as soon as we know something.
Rox Gotta go, I'm hungry and tired.

Rox Thelma N called today and had just come back from Scott City from Eva N's funeral. She said to tell you and Robert she will pray for a speedy recovery and hopes Robert can get out of hospital soon and you can start home. She told me to tell you both hi and she will continue to pray for Robert, you and your family. Good talking to you today and Robert sounded great. He sounded like our old Robert. It was good to hear him laugh and sound so much stronger. Got to run so take care and we will keep praying for his good health. We love you just wanted to let you know Thelma is thinking of you both. She did not know till I told her that Robert had been sick. Oh she told me they seen some big things going down main street in Scott to day when they got there and she thought they might be those big wind turbins. I told her they were proabably going to your place and she was surprised. Tell Robert she seen them so they must be on their way. She said they were big.Got to go and stay strong and we hope your getting to go home soon. Love Hermaine
